Burgess Hill

Following a year of pre-application negotiations with the Planners at West Sussex, this application is now being considered. This was always going to be a challenge since the proposal is wrapped  in the Northern Arc which is an enormous planning undertaking involving three major developers and hoping to deliver 3500 new homes across the top of Burgess Hill. Naturally we have been mired in the political situation which has protracted this application.

A further three and a half years of negotiating with Mid Sussex District Council, including the submission of a number of schemes suggested by the planners themselves, and political interference from others, The Hunt Group finally secured a grant of planning for 36 dwellings at Appeal in December 2017. This broke the stalemate that had arisen between the Local Authority and a consortium of National housebuilders regarding the potential liability of contributions.

The site has been bought by Brookworth Homes, and they are keen to deliver their product in advance of the major developers involved in the Northern Arc.
